1900 2 arm pendant. Lustre Art Shades

1 in stock

I’m very pleased to offer this exquisite circa-1900 2-shade pendant with Lustre Art shades!

For much of the 19th-century, gas lighting was the norm. In the last decade of the century, electric lighting started to make inroads, and gas/electric combination fixtures became popular. During the first decade of the 20th-century, gas lighting waned in popularity, and all-electric fixtures became widely available.

As such, the pendant listed here represent a new era in the history of lighting. Which is kinda cool.

The fixture would have been used in a home built in the late 1890s or very early 20th-century.

It is delicious.

The fixture is all brass, and this has a beautiful subtle patina which I but gently polished.

The gorgeous shades are by Lustre Art, and are signed (see images).

There are two elegant brass flourishes sitting atop each arm. Exquisite.

The fixture is now 36-inches long. I may be able to adjust this up/down; just let me know!

To help ease with shipping the fixture will be shipped with the long pole removed. It will be easy to re-install.

With new wiring, this fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!

DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). You can use clear Edison-style LED bulbs.
COLOR: Gold. The shades are gold tones and teal.
SIZE: See above. As well, the fixture is wide 31-inches wide, shade to shade. The fitters are 2-1/4-inches. The ceiling canopy is 3-1/2-inches wide and will not cover oversized modern electrical boxes. You may need a cover plate.
I love writing this: there’s no damage.
The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
