1905 early electric pendants PAIR
1 in stock
I’m very pleased to offer this pair of circa-1905 early electric pendants!
This listing is for two matching fixtures.
Fixtures such as this were used from the 1890s through to the early 1920s, and were normally placed in utility areas of a home, or in simple commercial applications. You would not, for example, have seen such fixtures in the main hall of a bank. These fixtures were inexpensive in their day and thus not highly regarded. Consequently, they were casually discarded over the decades. Today, their rarity has hugely inflated their value. As well, their innate simplicity is now much appreciated.
The ceiling canopies are porcelain. From this hangs a cloth-covered cord (new!). One can adjust the cord up/down. The turn-key sockets are brass. The shades are white glass, and delicately ruffled!
The shades are petite, just under 6-inches wide. The overall height of the fixtures is almost 30-inches and, again, this is easily adjusted.
You could hang the fixtures to each side of a bathroom mirror for a distinctive look. Or, one fixture could hang over your kitchen sink, with the other in a pantry. Both could go in a rectangular hall.
With new wiring, this pair is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixtures accept standard base 60W bulbs (not included).
COLOR: Brass. White. Brown cords.
SIZE: See above. As well, the fitters size is 2-1/4-inches.
- I love writing this: there’s no damage save some minute chips to the fitting ends of the shades. This is normal for vintage shades, and the chips cannot be seen.
- The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring and paper insulators.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
