I’m very pleased to offer this wonderful circa-1910 2-arm electric brass pendant!
BACKGROUND:
For much of the 19th-century, gas lighting was the norm. In the last decade of the century, electric lighting started to make inroads, and gas/electric combination fixtures became popular. During the first decade of the 20th-century, gas lighting waned in popularity, and all-electric fixtures became widely available.
As such, the pendant listed here represent a new era in the history of lighting. Which is kinda cool. Note though how the basic design is still a holdover to the previous generation of lighting, with the brass tube arms, and the vertical brass pipe.
The fixture is only 17-inches long, but is an impressive 25-inches wide (shade edge to shade edge). The fixture is scaled for a bedroom.
And the shades! They are blue-tinged opalescent swirls! Gorgeous!
The sockets have pull-chains but the fixture can be controlled by a wall switch.
The patina is lovely.
This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). Clear Edison-style LED bulbs would look well.
COLOR: See above.
SIZE: See above. As well, the fitters are 2-1/4-inches.
CONDITION:
The only issue is a small chip to the fitting end of one shade. This is normal, and cannot be seen.
The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring and paper insulators.
The patina has some spotting and tonal irregularity. This is normal. And attractive, I think.
