I’m very pleased to offer this fascinating 1913 Brascolite!
I love Brascolites. They were specifically designed to increase wattage while reducing electricity costs! How very modern!
“The ideal light for every purpose!”
While first produced in 1913, Brascolite’s were sold through to the 1920s and 1930s.
The fixture takes one 300W bulb, and the thick glass shade diffuses this, while the bright white enamel bounces the light into your room. A 200W LED bulb would be ideal.
The shade is held by three distinctive Brascolite hooks.
The bottom of the large disk is baked enamel on steel. The sides are gloss black paint, as is the ceiling canopy.
Most Brascolite’s are surface-mounted so it’s nice hanging this hanging version.
The fixture retains its original and wonderfully beefy coppery chains. Nice.
The wiring is new and cloth-covered.
The fixture is larger than most Brascolite’s I’ve offered and is rather imposing in person. It offers a dramatic presence!
The fixture is ideal for a kitchen or dining room.
This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts one standard base 300W bulb. A 200 LED bulb would work, too. The socket is a Mogul-size but it has a standard-base adapter.
COLOR: Gloss black. White. Small silver details.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 34-inches and is 19-inches wide. The shade is 11-inches wide. I can remove some chain. I could add chain but it would not be original.
