I’m very pleased to offer this incredible circa-1915 pan-style silver chandelier!
The fixture is stamped brass, with a silver-plate finish, and painted teal accents. All this has a very old (perhaps original) protective lacquer finish. The lacquer has aged and the fixture today reads more a pale gold than silver. The lacquer could be removed and the silver polished but this would entail the loss of the teal paint and, too, the beautiful aged finish.
The shades are also wonderful. I’ve never seen them before. They are also…amazingly…undamaged. Note how their vertical clear lines mimic the Sheffield-style lines of the fixture.
Pan-style fixtures were wildly popular in the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s, and were used in all style homes.
All the wiring is new, and cloth-covered like the original. Nice.
Note the original chain, original canopy (fabulous!), and original mounting finial.
This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). Clear Edison-style LED bulbs would look well.
COLOR: See above.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 33-1/2-inches and is 19-inches wide (diagonally, shade edge to shade edge, or 14-1/2-inches wide (side-to-side, and shade edge to shade edge). The main body is 18-wide. I can remove some chain; I can add chain. The fitters are 2-1/4-inches.
I love writing this: there’s no damage.
The shades have no chips or cracks.
The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring and paper insulators.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
