Description
I’m very pleased to offer this striking 1920s crystal chandelier by Moe-Bridges!
The Moe-Bridges Company was established in 1915, in Milwaukee, WI. In 1943, the company was renamed The Lighthouse, and then Visa Lighting in 1963. Today, Visa Lighting is thriving, and still in Milwaukee.
The fixture is remarkable in that its original polychrome is in such good condition! The main color is a rich gold, and with red and blue accents. Stunning!
There are 5 amber crystal drops, and an amber crystal finial sphere. Fabulous!
The arms are brass tubes. The expressive socket clusters are steel. Many other parts are cast-iron. All retain their original polychrome.
The chain and canopy are original (a different canopy is shown in an early catalog image. See image. Moe-Bridges later changed this to the one shown here.)
The sockets are wiring are all new. The vertical wire is cloth-covered like the original. Nice.
This fixture is ideal for an Arts & Crafts-style home, Mission, Bungalow, or Foursquare.
This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). Clear Edison-style LED bulbs would look well.
COLOR: See above.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 25-inches and is 19-1/2-inches wide. I can remove up to 3-1/2-inches of chain; I can add chain.
CONDITION:
I love writing this: there’s no damage.
The sockets and wiring are new.
The amber crystals are new, replicating the lost originals.
The polychrome is in very good vintage condition (see images). There is some overall wear and bits of loss.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
