I’m very pleased to offer this stunning 1920s strap-style chandelier!
This type fixture is called strap-style because it’s made primarily from flat metal bars, like belt straps. What I love about such fixtures is how curvaceous they are. Just lovely to look at. The style was very popular in the 1920s and 1930s, and used in a variety of home styles including bungalows, Arts & Crafts, Spanish-Revival, Colonial-Revival, and Four-squares.
The fixture retains its highly distinctive original polychrome. Much of this is a 2-tone brown, with accents of blue, gold, and red. Fabulous! As the images testify, the polychrome looks great (the fixture was taken apart and cleaned).
There’s a single red crystal in the center.
The finial, chain, and ceiling canopy are all original.
All the wiring is new, and cloth-covered like the original. Nice.
The fixture is larger than usual, at 20-inches wide. It’s 38-long. I can remove up to 5-inches of chain. I can add chain.
This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). Clear Edison-style LED bulbs would look quite well.
COLOR: See above.
SIZE: See above.
CONDITION:
The only issue is some very minor loss to the polychrome.
The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring.
The center crystal was long gone. I tried every color I had and liked red the best. There’s also red polychrome just above the socket cups.
