Description
I’m very pleased to offer this lovely 1920s pan-style chandelier!
Pan-style fixtures were wildly popular through the 1910s, 1920s, and into the 1930s, and were used in a variety of home style such as bungalows, Art & Crafts, Mission, Colonial, and foursquare.
The fixture is wonderfully detailed, from the cast-brass arms, stamped-brass socket rings, and ceiling canopy.
The finial is original!
Most of the fixture is brass. This had been very badly overpainted over the years (see last image). I removed all the paint, revealing the underlying bass which had a kinda sorta tortoiseshell patina which I really liked. I retained this, but the bottom dome was too splotchy so I polished this bright. I love the contrast.
The ceiling canopy was missing so I searched and searched for one which had the same kinda sorta tortoiseshell patina. I think it’s a perfect match.
All the turn-knob sockets and wiring are new, and the vertical wire is cloth-covered like the original. Nice.
This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). Clear Edison-style dimmable LED bulbs would look great.
COLOR: Brass with patina. Bright brass.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 25-inches (minus bulbs) and is 18-inches wide (diagonally). I can remove up to 7-inches of chain; I can add chain.
CONDITION:
The sockets are are new.
All the wiring is new.
