I’m very pleased to offer this stunning 1920s pan-style chandelier by the incomparable Lightolier Company!
Beginning in the 1920s, and for many decades thereafter, the Lightolier Company (extant today) made some of the very finest fixtures. Their designs were always simply dazzling, and the quality was the very very very best. When you restore vintage lights such as I do these aspects are so obvious they tend to jump out. It’s always a particular pleasure restoring a Lightolier!
The fixture, remarkably, retains its original finish: A dark taupe with exposed brass accents. Just gorgeous. The finish is in excellent condition.
The white shades are also gorgeous!
All the wiring is new, and cloth covered like the original. Nice.
The fixture is an imposing 21-inches wide (shade to shade).
When this fixture was made it would have been about twice the price of comparable fixtures by other lighting companies. This premium was for the quality, design, and the Lightolier name. Kinda like the difference between a Chevy and a Rolls-Royce. This premium still applies today.
With new wiring, this fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included).
COLOR: See above. There is, too, a bit of red in the chain flourish.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 37-inches and is 21-inches wide. I can remove up to 5-inches of chain; I can add chain.
The shades have some minor chips to their fitting ends. This is normal, and cannot be seen.
The four outer sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring and paper insulators. The center socket was replaced at some point. This is not obvious.
The painted finish is, as noted, original and in excellent condition. There are very minor bits of loss, and I did some minor touching up.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
