I’m very pleased to offer this lovely 1940s silver chandelier by the Gross Chandelier Company of St. Louis!
The chandelier is scaled for a foyer, a small dining room, small bedroom, or bathroom.
The metal components are mostly silver-plated (the arms are aluminum).
The finial, chain, and ceiling canopy are original to the fixture.
When I found the chandelier it was missing its shades. Luckily, I had in storage three perfect 1940s shades. Note how the frosted pattern is scalloped at the top, which matches the scallop edges of the glass components, and how the horizontal frosted lines match the same in the metal components. The floral/leaf designs are wheel-cut. Nice.
The sockets and all the wiring are new. The exposed wiring is cloth covered like the original.
This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included).
COLOR: Silver. See above.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 30-inches and is 14-1/2-inches wide. I can remove up to 12-inches of chain; I can add chain.
- The shades has some flea bites to their upper edges.
- The sockets and wiring are new.
- The silver-plating on the chain exhibits loss. This is typical for vintage plated chain.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
