1950 Italian foyer pendant

1 in stock

I’m very pleased to offer this striking circa-1950 Italian-made foyer pendant!

When I came across this fixture my first thought was: French? Italian? Swedish? For, it does not look anything like American-made fixtures of the period. My suspicion was later confirmed by a stamp inside a socket cup: Made in Italy.

The main body is a curvaceous brass vine. Gorgeous! This holds two astonishing glass plates, frosted with designs. Wow!

When lighted, dramatic shadows are thrown onto the ceiling! I did not expect that!

The fixture is scaled for a foyer, hall, or powder room.

If your home is built in the late 1940s or early 1950s, and you are looking for a spectacular fixture for, say, your foyer, then this Italian beauty may be ideal!

This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!

DETAILS: The fixture accepts two candelabra base 60W bulbs (not included).
COLOR: Brass. Glass. See above.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 20-inches and is 7-1/2-inches wide. I can remove up to 3-1/2-inches of chain; I can add chain.

  • There is no damage.
  • The sockets are original. The vertical wiring is new, and cloth-covered like the original.
  • The brass has a subtle patina. It is not BRIGHT brass. There are some subtle darker spots.

SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
