1950s Colonial-style chandelier
1 in stock
I’m very pleased to offer this Mid-Century Colonial-style chandelier!
When we think of Mid-Century we tend to also think: Modern. Mid-Century Modern. But during the 1950s, the Colonial style was quite popular, and lighting companies across America churned out a wealth of Colonial-style fixtures, in addition to Sputniks!
In the 1950s, this is the style of chandelier which would have normally been used above a Heywood-Wakefield dining room table, rather than a Sputnik.
All the wiring is new, and the exposed wire is cloth-covered like the original.
This chandelier is brass, and with a gorgeous glass stem. There are five wheel-cut glass shades.
Wholly restored and with new wiring, this fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included).
COLOR: Brass. Glass.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 24-inches and is a bit over 18-inches wide. I can remove up to 5-inches of chain; I can add chain.
- I love writing this: there’s no damage.
- The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring.
- The brass retains its original protective lacquer. There are age spots (patina), reflecting where air has gotten behind the lacquer. This is normal for vintage lacquer.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
