1950s maritime porch NOS. MORE AVAILABLE
5 in stock
I’m very pleased to offer this NEVER USED Eames-era maritime-style porch/foyer light!
Yes! This is new old stock still in the original box. Wow!
THE BACK STORY:
The fixture was made by a company in Topeka, Kansas. Remember that far far away time when things were made in the USA? Anyway, the company closed in the 1960s. At the liquidation sale, a man purchased thousands of still-in-the-box lights and stored them in the massive attic of his business. Most are still there. You can imagine my excitement discovering this Aladdin’s cave of treasure!
I HAVE MORE:
If you need more just type the amount needed.
The fixture is stamped brass.
The glass shade is a Fresnel type, and I do love a Fresnel shade.
You can see the obvious Eames-era shaping of the ceiling mount. Nice.
The fixture was intended for a covered porch but would also look very good indoors.
The fixture is, of course, in mint condition.
DETAILS: The fixture accepts one standard base 60W bulbs.
COLOR: Brass. Clear glass.
SIZE: The fixture is 8-3/4-inches high, and 5-3/4-inches wide at the the wide point. The shade is about 3-5/8-inches wide.
- I love writing this: there’s no damage.
- The socket and wiring (modern plastic) are original and in fine shape.
- The brass has a protective lacquer. There are some small age spots where air has gotten behind the lacquer and caused the brass to patina.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
