1970s silver sconces by Lightolier PAIR
1 in stock
I’m very pleased to offer this striking, never-used, pair of circa-1970 silver sconces!
Beginning in the 1920s, and for many decades thereafter, the Lightolier Company (extant today of course) made some of the very finest fixtures. Their designs were always simply dazzling, and the quality was the very very very best. When you restore vintage lights such as I do, these aspects are so obvious they tend to jump out. It’s always a particular pleasure restoring a Lightolier!

Yes, these sconces have never been used. Indeed, they have been in their original boxes for all these decades. Wow. They retain all their parts, labels, and instructions. Wow. The boxes, and everything, are included.
The sconces are, of course, mint. They look brand new.
The finish is, I believe, silver-plate. The label simply refers to a “lustrous finish” with a baked clear enamel requiring but “minimal care”.
The outer curve is glass.
The sconces are Italian made, and were part of Lightolier’s exclusive “Import Collection”.
The sconces are ideally suited for any number of rooms. They can be used in a living/dining room. Perhaps your master bedroom? Or spa bathroom? Kitchen? Glamorous powder room?
While the sconces are traditional in style, I can envision them in a modernist interior as an exciting counterpoint.
The sconces are ready to hang, and come with all the mounting hardware needed!
DETAILS: Each fixture accepts two candelabra base 60W bulbs.
SIZE: The sconces are 14-1/2-inches high, 9-inches wide, and they project 4-1/2-inches.
- I love writing this: there’s no damage. The sconces look brand new.
- The sockets and wiring are original, and also in mint condition.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
