Description

I’m very pleased to offer this 1920s pan-style 3-arm STRATFORD brass chandelier by the incomparable Lightolier Company!

ABOUT LIGHTOLIER
Beginning in the 1920s, and for many decades thereafter, the Lightolier Company made some of the very finest fixtures. Their designs were always simply dazzling, and the quality was the very very very best. When you restore vintage lights such as I do these aspects are so obvious they tend to jump out. It’s always a particular pleasure restoring a Lightolier!

When this fixture was made it would have been about twice the price of comparable fixtures by other lighting companies. This premium was for the quality, design, and the Lightolier name. Kinda like the difference between a Chevy and a Rolls-Royce. This premium still applies today.

The fixture retains its distinctive original finish: “Corona gold”. Gorgeous.

And…wow…the fixture retains its original “buff-tinted Comfortone” glass shades! Incredible! They are white with umber accents. Also gorgeous!

I love the richly detailed cast brass arms.

The finial, chain, and canopy are also original.

The 1924 price: $21!

NOTE: I also have a 5-arm candle version Stratford chandelier listed.

All the wiring is new, and cloth covered like the original. Nice.

This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!

DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). Clear Edison-style LED bulbs would look well.
COLOR: See above.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 32-inches and is 17-1/2-inches wide (shade to shade). I can remove up to 4-inches of chain; I can add chain. The canopy is 4-1/2-inches wide. The fitters are 2-1/4-inches.
CONDITION:
The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring and paper insulators.
The shades are undamaged.
The finish is in good vintage condition. There is subtle overall wear, subtle tonal irregularities, and small bits of loss.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
