THE BACK STORY:
The fixture was made by a company in Topeka, Kansas. Remember that far far away time when things were made in the USA? Anyway, the company closed in the 1960s. At the liquidation sale, a man purchased thousands of still-in-the-box lights and stored them in the massive attic of his business. Most are still there. You can imagine my excitement discovering this Aladdin’s cave of treasure! Anyway, I purchased a bunch. But there’s a lot more.

The fixture has stamped brass fittings with a lacquer finish. The glass shade has a frosted white finish.

The fixture is on the petite side, and ideal for a smaller space like a foyer, hall, covered porch, or bathroom. I love the idea of a row of such lights down a long hall.

The fixture is, of course, in near-mint condition.

DETAILS: The fixture accepts one standard base 60W bulb.
COLOR: Brass. Clear glass.
SIZE: The fixture is 8-inches high, and 6-inches wide.
CONDITION:

  • I love writing this: there’s no damage.
  • The brass shows some very subtle age spotting. I stress how subtle this is, and is only obvious up very close. (This means some air has gotten under the protective lacquer and caused the brass to patina. It is not damage and is reversible.)
  • The sockets and wiring (modern plastic) are original and in fine shape.
